Tucker Wetmore closed out his WAVES ON A SUNSET headlining tour in the best way. The rising star delivered his final show of the run in front of a sold-out crowd at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, which also marked his headline debut in the iconic venue.

From the beginning to the very end of the show, held on the evening of Wednesday, May 21, Wetmore had fans on their feet and singing along to fan-favorites off his debut album, What Not To.

In the midst of the set, he surprised fans by welcoming Gavin DeGraw, who joined Wetmore on stage for a powerful rendition of a tune that has become a staple in Wetmore’s live shows – “I Don’t Wanna Be.”

Two Surprise Plaques

Another standout moment came when Wetmore’s team at Mercury and MCA presented him with two plaques commemorating 1 BILLION career streams across his catalog as well as an RIAA 2x PLATINUM certification for “Wind Up Missin’ You.” Both of these impressive feats were achieved in just over a year.

The Washington native took a moment during the show to reflect on the journey and the fans that have gotten him to this point.

“I didn’t know what I was doing when I first moved here if I’m being honest,” Wetmore admitted to the crowd. “I still don’t know what I’m doing now, I’m just writing songs and having a blast doing it. You guys don’t even know it, but you’re changing my life every single day. I love you guys so much, thank you.”

Tucker Wetmore Made History With ‘What Not To’

Upon its April 25 release, What Not To made history as the biggest country album debut from a new artist in 2025. The album debuted at the No. 15 spot on Billboard’s all-genre 200 Albums chart and helped earn Wetmore over 1 BILLION total global streams in just over a year.

The Chris LaCorte produced project allows fans to get to know Wetmore on a much deeper level as he dives into the highs and lows of his life over the past 25 years through deeply personal storytelling, high-energy anthems, and lessons of love and heartbreak.

“This is my first moment, my first opportunity to kind of scratch the surface on letting the world know who I am and where I came from and why I am the way I am,” he told Country Now. “And I think even the album art is just raw me and it’s just my face, and that’s what I wanted because the album is definitely scratching the surface on letting people know who I am. I think everything happened so fast for me last year that nobody really got the chance to get to know me.”

Highlights on the 19-track album include the viral smash “Brunette,” which earned him the biggest streaming debut of his career, “Drinkin’ Bootsand the title track, which Wetmore delivered in a stripped-down fashion on the piano while on stage of the Ryman.
