‘The Voice’ Champ Bryce Leatherwood Returns To Perform ‘God Made’ During Season 27 Finale

Season 22 winner of The Voice, Bryce Leatherwood, returned to the show’s Season 27 finale episode for a special performance of “God Made,” a track from his just-released debut album.

On Tuesday, May 20, the rising country star was invited back to the place that kickstarted his career. Throughout his time on the show, he worked under the guidance of coach Blake Shelton who scored his ninth win with Leatherwood. The superstar was also on hand last night to perform his newest single, “Texas.” Seeing both artists back together in the same setting that first untied them was definitely a full-circle moment.

Leatherwood decided to showcase his newest song “God Made”, which appears on his self-titled debut album. The project was unveiled on May 16, while the current Top 5 contestants were busy battling through the playoffs.

“I’m so excited to be back, this is the place that made me,” Bryce Leatherwood said ahead of his performance on social media.

A Performance To Remember

His name hung in bright lights above the elevated stage that was transformed into a honky tonk with neon carnival lights glowing in the background, dancers grooving on the floor below and even a mechanical bull.

The tune he selected for the night celebrate the beauty of the life God has created, especially the wonderful woman who is placed as the focal point of the lyrics. He starts out by thanking the one above for things like white oak trees, rock-bottom creeks, the stars in the sky and more, but Leatherwood’s smooth vocals make it clear he’s most grateful for the creation of his other half.

Bryce Leatherwood had the panel of coaches and audience members clapping their hands and singing along to the chorus as he sang, “God made a man, man made a truck/ Truck made a way for me to pick you up/ And just ride under His blue sky/ God made the rain that fell on the crops/ That made this whiskey we’re sipping on/ And that red lipstick’s just the cherry on top/ When God made you, He was showing off/ Ooh, when God made you, he was showing off.”

This performance proved just how far Bryce Leatherwood has come since he was a contestant fighting for his win in the singing competition. His hard work has earned him the title of a force to be reckoned with and it’s clear there’s greatness in his future.
