Roman Alexander Opens Up About Working A Second Job To Support His Music Career, Announces New Song, ‘Life Like’

Roman Alexander is opening up about the side of his music career fans don’t always see on social media. In a raw and honest Instagram video, the rising country star revealed that despite the success he’s had over the last few years, including touring with some of his favorite artists, hearing his music on the radio, and celebrating milestones, he still works a second job to keep his dream alive.

“It’s so easy to get caught up in how perfect things look on social media rather than how real things actually are sometimes. But the last few years I’ve been so blessed. I’ve gone on tour with my favorite artists, artists I looked up to, artists I grew up listening to, I’ve watched my friends win awards, get number ones. I’ve had a song on the radio with the country artists, and I’ve even had successes on my own music, which has been a blessing this year,” he began.”

The Highs And Lows Of The Music Industry

Alexander went on to reflect on how far he’s come since moving to Nashville almost 10 years ago in pursuit of his country music dreams. That being said, there have been plenty of lows amid the highs and scarifies he has had to make in order to continue pursuing music.

“Things haven’t always been perfect and things aren’t always perfect because with socials we always see the perfect side of things, things I want you guys to see. But what you don’t know about me when I’m not writing, recording or performing is, I work a second job. It’s not a bad second job, it’s just a second job. And that allows me to keep the ball rolling sometimes on this career.”

While he didn’t specifically say what the second job entails, he explained, isn’t something he’s ashamed of. Instead, it’s what helps him keep going.

“At the end of the day, when you love something so much and you love your career and you have a dream, you’re willing to do whatever it takes to make that dream succeed. And if that means working a second job to make that happen, then so be it.”

The Missouri native concluded his message by asking followers to send in their stories – whether it’s about working a second job, a night shift or whatever they may be doing to stay afloat. Doing this allows him to use his platform to hopefully inspire people through each other’s real-life stories instead of placing all the focus on him.

New Project Coming Later This Year

With this new chapter, Roman Alexander is set to release a fresh collection of songs that find him channeling the realistic side of his life journey in a deeper way than ever before.

“Almost 30 songs released. But somehow, I’ve never really wrote about my journey. Not like this,” he began in another Instagram post.

“It’s been a long road…full of risks, little bit of heartbreak, and at times more losses than wins. But even the smallest win…made the losses feel like part of the plan. Even when it hurt. Even when the silence felt louder than the music. Every step forward felt like proof that…I was built for this.”

“Life Like” Set To Be Released May 30

With his next release, Life Like,” Alexander is no longer just sharing the polished end result, he’s pulling back the curtain on the struggle, sacrifice, and grit it takes to chase a dream. And in doing so, he’s hoping to connect with fans who are fighting for their own dreams.

Listeners get a taste of this vulnerability through a set of teasers shared across social media, which finds him singing, “I hit that interstate/ Headed straight for 24/ The Highway played my song/ Got to quit my second job/ That fire that’s been burning/ Deep inside my chest/ Says let go, let God to the rest/ I wanna live my whole life/ Like I got one day left/ I wanna take every shot/ Every chance that I get/ Risk it all for a girl/ Let her crash my whole world.”

“Life Like,” arriving May 30, will serve as the next piece of a larger project that reflects the real ups and downs behind Roman Alexander’s grind.

This song will follow the release of “Tying One On,” the single that served as the introduction to this musical chapter.
