Riley Green’s name is more talked about now than ever before. While this means his career has reached an all-time high, the fame and life in the spotlight isn’t everything it’s cracked up to be, according to the Alabama native.
While serving as a co-host on Country Countdown USA with Lon Helton, Green revealed that he’s hoping to reclaim some normalcy by selling his Nashville home and moving further outside of the city where he will have more privacy.
“It’s not my favorite part of the industry. I miss being a regular guy. But it’s a small price to pay for the opportunities I’ve gotten,” he admitted.
The “Worst Way” singer revealed that he’s “buying another place further out of town,” somewhere with a bit more land and more distance from his neighbors so he can enjoy a quieter, more private lifestyle away from the chaos of the city.

His Lack Of Mustache Brought A Bit Of Normalcy
Recently, Green enjoyed a short stint of time where he could fly slightly under the radar. This came as a result of him unexpectedly shaving his mustache. He sent fans into a frenzy of disappointment when the country act revealed his clean-shaven face on May 21.
Since his mustache has become such a signature part of his look, shaving it off let him blend in and feel like a regular guy again, at least until it started to grow back.
Speaking to Helton on the sudden change, Green acknowledged, “I hurt a lot of people’s feelings when I’ve shaved my mustache off.”

The Reason Behind The New Look
However, he also said it was “nice” to be able to walk around and not have anyone notice him at first glance. The change surprised a lot of fans, but for him it was a chance to get back to feeling a little more normal and prepare for the warm summer months ahead.
“Every guy goes through this, I ended up with a mustache, and it became a thing.”

Fans React
Green has opened up about this decision a few times and continues to explain that he never thought it would cause as much of a commotion as it did. Talking to Audacy’s Katie Neal, he added that it’s something he does nearly every year when the temperatures start to rise.
“I shave every year just to get a little sun on my face. It starts to get hot. It just feels nice for a little change.’”
Based off the disappointed reaction from fans, Riley Green now sees that his only option is to “grow it back.”
Upcoming Shows
Fans will hopefully get to see the mustache as Green continues to let it grow while on the road for his current Damn Country Music Tour. Produced by Live Nation, the U.S. leg of the tour launched on May 1st in Athens, GA and is set to continue through November 21. His final stop will take place in Oklahoma City, OK.
It was also recently announced that his second “Duckman Jam” concert will return on November 22 in Little Rock, AR with supporting acts Jamey Johnson, Drake White, and Lauren Watkins.
Additionally, he’s set to deliver two back-to-back headlining shows in Las Vegas on December 12 and 13 during National Finals Rodeo weekend.
