In injury news, French gymnast Samir Ait Said snapped his leg, then his stretcher was dropped. On Sunday, he vowed to return for Tokyo in 2020 despite the gruesome injury. A worldwide audience was horrified whe Said’s left leg snapped as he landed a vault during the men’s qualifying competition, with the lower half of his shin dangling grotesquely after the bone audibly snapped. His ordeal took another bad turn when staff moving the 26-year-old’s stretcher lost control, sending it falling heavily to the floor:
