A TikTok user named Kenzie Myers is gaining major traction online after sharing a look inside her 2-year-old’s birthday, where she celebrated her “sassy, bossy and girly” daughter Wrenley with a “Two Dozen Roses” themed party inspired by Shenandoah’s 1989 No. 1 hit.
The celebration was an intimate backyard cookout, reminiscent of the ’90s summer days “when life was simpler and slower,” as Myers put it. Although the setting was more low-key, her creative efforts perfectly channeled the era of the country band’s signature tune.
Myers took Country Now through the party planning process, starting with the moment the clever idea struck her.
“Every June, our town has a Rodeo, and it’s always around her birthday, so I was just thinking rodeo/cowgirl theme, and one day I was listening to 90s country on Pandora and Shenandoah’s song “Two Dozen Roses” came on and something just clicked. And my ideas just kept spiraling and that is how we got this theme,” she explained.

She went on to say that in addition to “Two Dozen Roses” playing on repeat, a ’90s country playlist kept the party going and Wrenley took full advantage of it, showing off her moves all afternoon.
“She was dancing, she’s our little dancer that’s for sure!”
The party was decked out to the nines, feasting with cowboy boot décor, roses in abundance, a balloon arch with an adorable photo op, a cowboy hat and boots to match the red and pink color scheme, and more.
Since Wrenley is only two, Myers jokingly admits the party may have been more for her than her little girl, adding she’s not sure Wrenley will even remember it. Regardless, it seemingly made for a sweet celebration for all.
“She loved the all the attention when everyone was singing happy birthday to her! And of course loved opening the presents,” she said of the birthday girl.

Growing up in the mid-90s, Kenzie Myers says that her love for Shenandoah and 90s country began when she was a kid. This combined with the fact that her little girl was turning two, made “Two Dozen Roses” the perfect birthday theme.
“I honestly can’t remember hearing it for the first time, but it’s one of those songs that as soon as you hear it, you instantly know it’s a classic…I was a ‘95 baby and my parents have always listened to ‘90s country music and I’ve never quit listening to it! And I hope my daughter will always love it like I have growing up!”
Myers’ video recapping the event has gained nearly 600k views and hundreds of users complimenting her on her creativity. Many also shared that they will be using the same theme for their own kids’ birthdays.
“This is the best ever!!! So cute.”
“Saved, because I HAVE TO REMEMBER TO DO THIS for my daughter lol.”
“This theme is everything!”
“STOP. I don’t even have a daughter and I need this”
“Yesss I just had my baby 🥰 and I’m so using this idea”
The clip gained so much traction that Myers made another post kindly informing her followers where she purchased some of the décor from.

It’s safe to say her incredible party planning struck a chord with people all over the internet, which is not something Myers ever expected to happen. However she admits she is truly grateful for all the kindness from strangers.
“I can’t believe all the love and admiration my daughter has got on TikTok,” she wrote. “I never expected this video to blow up like it has! It was so much fun planning this party for my daughter!”
