NEXT BIG THING: Luke Combs – “Back in the Saddle”

Luke Combs revved up the music world—and motorsports—by releasing the official music video for his latest single, “Back in the Saddle.” The video features iconic NASCAR figures Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Richard Petty, blending country grit with racing glory in a high-octane visual tribute to resilience and homegrown roots.

🏁 NASCAR Legends and North Carolina Grit

The video was filmed at Tri-County Motor Speedway in Granite Falls, North Carolina—just over an hour from Combs’ childhood home. Dale Earnhardt Jr. drives a No. 8 Late Model stock car on the track, while seven-time Cup champion Richard Petty makes a cameo representing NASCAR royalty. A quote painted in the track’s tunnel, attributed to Dale Earnhardt Sr., reads: “You win some, lose some, and wreck some.”

Combs co-wrote the song with Dan Isbell and Jonathan Singleton. He later shared:

“I got to make the video with Dale Jr. and Richard Petty, which is a total dream come true. My grandpa would be rolling over in his grave in a good way…”

🔊 Gearing Up for a New Chapter

“Back in the Saddle” serves as the lead single from Luke’s upcoming album (yet to be officially titled), and marks his return to a bigger, arena-ready sound after last year’s Fathers & Sons project.

Luke teased the new record for months, saying:

“I’ve got this lead single coming out… I’m just jazzed… I’m excited for this next phase of whatever the music is going to turn into.”

🎤 Upcoming Dates & Live Appearances

Combs is in the middle of a major festival and concert run through the summer and fall, including historic headline appearances at Newport Folk Festival, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and Austin City Limits—making him the first country artist ever to headline both Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza.
