Jason Aldean one-night-only co-headlining show with Brooks & Dunn that was set to take place at the ionic Fenway Park in Boston, MA has been canceled. The artists were scheduled to take the stage on Friday, May 30.
One day prior, on May 29, the official Instagram account for Fenway Concerts posted the news, making fans aware that the concert will no longer take place. The message cited that the cancelation is “due to unforeseen circumstances.” In addition to the country concert, Shakira was also scheduled to perform tonight, but her set has now been canceled as well.
The message read, “Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Shakira and Jason Aldean and Brooks & Dunn performances originally scheduled for May 29th and May 30th respectively at Fenway Park have been canceled.”
Any fans who have already purchased their tickets will receive a refund at their original point of purchase.
The venue concluded the post by saying, “We apologize for the inconvenience.”
Fans Share Their Disappointment
Fans flooded the comment section of the post with questions and frustration over the short notice and lack of information.
“This is insane. My mom flew all the way from Florida to come to the concert,” one user said.
Another stated, “What? I’m on my way to Boston 😮😢”
“why wait until the day before to cancel? this sucks for fans who paid for parking, took time off work, and made travel plans,” added another.
Jason Aldean and Brooks & Dunn’s highly anticipated concert was also expected to welcome star-studded openers Nate Smith and RaeLynn. Aldean shared the message on his social media pages but has yet to give a comment of his own.
“Playing Fenway Park has always been a highlight for me over the years. I love the city of Boston, the people and the energy surrounding the city. Getting to play it with some of my musical heroes, Brooks & Dunn, is going to be one for the ages,” Aldean said when the show was first announced.
“It’s going to be a blast playing such an iconic stadium like Fenway with our buddy Jason,” Kix Brooks added at the time. “See you in the spring, Boston!”

A slew of other acts are still scheduled to appear at the MLB ballpark throughout the summer, including Hozier, The Lumineers, Thomas Rhett and more. Rhett is currently set to perform on July 19 with support from Teddy Swims, Tucker Wetmore and The Castellows.
