Ella Langley was already on a streak of career milestones, and she just added another one to the list. One week after becoming the most-awarded artist at the 60th ACM Awards, the songstress played her biggest headlining show to date.
On Thursday, May 15, Langley took the stage in front of an entirely sold-out crowd of 4,000 fans at The Complex. She was tapped as the headliner for the benefit concert supporting the Ron McBride Foundation, with all proceeds going toward after-school programs for at-risk youth in Title 1 schools.

In a new video from the show that has surfaced on TikTok, Langley appeared to be incredibly moved by the massive turnout. She introduced herself to all the new fans in the room and then made it clear that she hasn’t gotten this far “by accident.” Instead, she has found success as a result of “hard work and God’s plan.”

Standing at the mic with her stunning red guitar in hand donning a white flowy dress and black knee-high boots, the Alabama native went on to reflect on all the dream-come-true moments she had just one week prior in Texas. During the 2025 ACM Awards, Langley took home an impressive five trophies and delivered some stand-out performances.
“Even though I feel like I’ve worked my tail off, it’s crazy when you’re not invited somewhere and then somehow you’re the most nominated and you’re like, what the s**t is that? Are y’all lying to me?” Langley said, earning cheers from the crowd. “It’s just been nuts. It’s nuts. I feel like my feet haven’t touched the ground since last week.”

Langley then expressed her gratitude to all the fans who helped turn the Salt Lake City show into such a memorable night.
“Tonight, like I said, this is the biggest headlining show I have ever done in my career. We put this show on sale, and I mean, y’all literally sold it out within hour, so thank you,” she said with pride.
As she introduced her next song of the night, “girl you’re taking home,” Langley once again expressed how much she values hearing her fans singing her songs back to her every night.
“I know that these songs might mean something to some of you, but y’all singing them back means the whole damn world to me. This next song is a personal one off the record I put out last year, I used to hate singing it then I didn’t hate singing it. Now I hate singing it again. This one’s called ‘girl you’re taking home.’”
This incredibly sad ballad finds Ella Langley telling a story of heartbreak and jealousy from the perspective of someone who feels replaced by a new love in their ex’s life. The narrator struggles with wondering what the new girl has that she doesn’t as she sees her former partner treating his new girl the way Langley’s character always wanted to be treated.
With pure sadness in her voice, Langley asks, “If I was good enough to be your last call/ Why is she the one you call your mama about?/ After seein’ all the BS I saw/ Why is she the one who sees your best side now?/ If I’m the first thing on your mind the second she lets go/ Then why ain’t I the girl you’re takin’ home?”

“Girl you’re taking home” is one of many deeply personal stories that appears on Ella Langley’s 2024 Still Hungover project. This album also inspired the name of her most recent sold-out headline run, which wrapped up in April. She just announced a few additional dates that will take place this October across Texas.
Fans can catch her performing throughout the summer on Riley Green’s Damn Country Music Tour, with dates running from May 29 through August. She will also join select dates of Morgan Wallen’s I’m The Problem trek.
