Dasha Pens Emotional Letter to Her Younger Self in Vulnerable New Song, ‘Oh, Anna!’

Dasha pens an emotional letter to her younger self in her latest release, “Oh, Anna!”

The rising star, whose real name is Anna Dasha, is showing a new side of her artistry with the song, diving into raw, honest emotions after a whirlwind year in her career left her feeling like she was losing herself.

The song plays out like a letter to her younger self, with Dasha longing for the joyful and confident girl she used to be.

“I miss you, I need you/ I left you, didn’t mean to / I wish you would come back a little, come back a little/ Run as fast as you can/ I wish you would meet me in the middle, meet me in the middle/ Take me by the hand/ I feel more like a scared little kid than I ever did, back then/ I need you to come back a little, comе back a little/ Make me that girl again/ Oh, Anna,” the 25 year old sings.

With gentle guitar plucks accompanying its vulnerable lyrics, ‘Oh, Anna!’ stands out in the singer/songwriter’s catalog of dance-worthy pop/country tracks.

Upon the release of the song, Dasha shared an open letter explaining the story behind the song, reflecting on her rise to fame and losing her confidence along the way.

“When my career took off last year, everything changed so fast—and in the whirlwind, I felt like I lost myself. It was disorienting and, honestly, scary. I faced a lot of hate in the middle of my success, and for a while, my confidence disappeared,” she wrote. “So I wrote a song—not just for who I am now, but for the fearless little girl I used to be. The one with big dreams, unshakable pride, and a clear sense of self. This song is a reminder of her strength, her clarity, and her joy.”

Dasha aspires for listeners to rediscover themselves and find their true sense of identity through the deeply personal track.

“I hope when people hear it, they reconnect with their own younger selves—the purest versions of who they are,” she explained. “And if they’re feeling lost, I want them to know: sometimes the way forward is found by remembering where you started. My name is Anna Dasha—and I’m proud to say, she’s back.”

She paired the release with a nostalgic music video featuring home video footage, showcasing her carefree younger days and the little girl she hopes to reconnect with.

Co-written by Dasha, Hillary Lindsey, Emily Weisband, and Chris LaCorte, ‘Oh, Anna!’ is arguably Dasha’s best release to date.

Dasha is currently on the road with Thomas Rhett and Kane Brown, with several headlining shows of her own lined up along the way.
