Country Star Lorrie Morgan Faces Heartbreak as Husband Randy White Passes Away Following Cancer Battle

Lorrie Morgan is mourning the loss of her husband, Randy White, following a year-long battle with mouth cancer.

According to Morgan’s friend and manager, Tony Conway of Conway Entertainment Group, White passed away early on Sunday, June 1.

Conway also relayed Morgan’s heartfelt tribute: “Randy has been my partner, my champion, and my rock for 17 years. Our big, wonderful family and I are devastated by the loss of this truly kind and incredible man. I was blessed by his love. Ran-Ran, I will love and miss you forever.”

The couple had been married for nearly 15 years. White, a retired Nashville entrepreneur, and Morgan exchanged vows in a private beachside ceremony in September 2010. They made their home just outside of Nashville.

Just over a year ago, Morgan shared on Facebook that her husband was undergoing cancer treatment.

“We deeply appreciate the prayers and well wishes, and for continued support and privacy as we focus on Randy’s health and on our family at this time,” Morgan wrote.

White, Morgan’s sixth husband, stood by her side longer than any of her previous spouses. Her first marriage was to Ron Gaddis, who was backup and harmony singer, duet partner, bass player, and bandleader for George Jones’ band, the Jones Boys. Her second husband was fellow country legend Keith Whitley, who tragically passed away in 1989. Afterward, Morgan married Brad Thompson, then Jon Randall, and later Sammy Kershaw.

Most recently, Lorrie Morgan canceled all tour dates and appearances to be by White’s side while he was receiving treatment at a hospital in Middle Tennessee.

There have been no updates announced about Morgan’s current tour plans, though she has been preparing for a 40-city summer tour. She is currently scheduled to perform at CMA Fest on Saturday, June 7 at 2pm on the Chevy Vibes Stage.

Together, Lorrie and Randy blended their families, which include her two children, his four children, fifteen grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. They were also eagerly anticipating the arrival of a second great-grandchild. White is also survived by his loyal canine companions, Puddin’ Marie Antoinette and Lil Mae Rose.

Morgan’s son, Jesse Keith Whitley, penned a heartfelt message in White’s honor early Sunday.

“As I sit here in the room with hospice, I don’t know really what to think or to say about this situation. But, I can say that the recent years of my life all the way back to when I was 22-23 years old this great man has been here and loved my mom , and also me & my sister as we were his own,” he wrote. “He showed me love and showed me a relationship with Jesus even though I grew up Catholic, I kinda distanced myself a little from it. He has been the best grandfather for my kids they could ever ask for. Has come and picked me up late night when it wasn’t safe to drive and was never mad .. not even once (this happened multiple times lol). Even when I called from a jail cell he laughed at me and said well I’ll be there in a little bit (boy mom was pissed). He has shown unconditional love to my mother and been the most gentle soul to ever grace this entire family. As we say our goodbyes , I reminisce of all the good times we have had & the battles he has helped overcome. I can’t tell you the amount of love that has poured in from fans, family and friends. We will miss you always and forever and our hearts are shattered in losing you. But you have fought one helluva fight RanMan! Rest easy say hello to everyone and love on Weezy.”

The family kindly asks for prayers and privacy during this difficult time. Details regarding Randy White’s service are yet to be announced.
