Brittany Aldean isn’t ruling out the idea of stepping into the spotlight alongside her husband, country superstar Jason Aldean.
During a recent Q&A on Instagram, a fan asked, “Would you and Jason ever perform a duet?” Brittany gave a promising response that read, “We’ve talked about it for a while now… never say never.”
This isn’t the first time the idea for the couple to collaborate has come up, in fact it’s been a conversation for some time now. Although Brittany isn’t a full-blown singer/songwriter, she has previously tried her hand at the music industry.
In 2012, she auditioned for Season 11 of American Idol in front of judges Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson. The North Carolina native earned a golden ticket with her performance of “Spoiled” by Joss Stone, but was ultimately eliminated before getting the chance to showcase her talent during the live audience rounds. She was one of 301 singers that made it to Hollywood, however out of that group only 98 contestants moved on in the competition.
Since then, Brittany hasn’t seemed to show an interest in revisiting her musical dreams. She is however very involved in the industry while supporting her husband. The pair tied the knot in March 2015 and later welcomed two kids, Navy and Memphis, making Jason a father of four including his two daughters from a previous marriage.
Back in 2022, Aldean addressed the idea of collaborating with Brittany musically during an interview with Audacy’s TC and Dina B for Stars and Strings. He explained that for them, the main concern was finding a song that would suit them both.
“Brit’s a great singer,” Aldean admitted at the time. “It’s one of those things where, to me, it all comes down to the song. If you find the right song, I think that’s really the key. It’s definitely something I’m not opposed to at all if the right thing came along and made sense.”
While she hasn’t gotten in a studio yet, Aldean believes that his would half would shine if the opportunity arose.
“I don’t think she’s ever done that before, that would be cool. She’d be a little reluctant until she got in there. I think she’d be great,” he shared.
Having a relationship in the public eye is no easy feat. Another question that appeared in the recent Q&A found a user asking Brittany, “how do you deal with the haters? It must be difficult.”
The mom of two didn’t hold back in her response as she made it clear that the online criticism no longer fazes her.
“I have the thickest skin and there’s nothing that could be said to me now that hasn’t already been said. I am so content in life with everything, I could honestly care less what someone who knows nothing about me says about me,” she wrote back with confidence.
Even with their busy schedules, the couple, who recently celebrated 10 years of marriage, are always seen spending time together on the road or on various family vacations with their kids.
Jason Aldean is currently preparing to launch his headlining Full Throttle tour on May 23 in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. The trek runs through October with support from Nate Smith, RaeLynn and Dee Jay Silver.
