Chris Lane and his wife Lauren Bushnell Lane just revealed the gender of baby No. 3 — and it’s a girl!
The country singer and his other half, who are already parents to two young boys, Dutton Walker and Baker West, shared the heartwarming news in an Instagram post on Tuesday (July 8).
In the adorable video, the family of four kept things low key as they sat on a picnic blanket in front of their house for the big reveal. Lauren held a tray of cupcakes, each filled with colored frosting to indicate the baby’s gender. Before taking a bite, the family made their guesses: Lauren and the boys predicted another boy, while Chris went out on a limb and said he thought it would be a girl.
It turns out, dad was right.
On the count of three, they all ate a big bite out of the cupcakes to reveal the bright pink frosting, confirming that they will welcome their first daughter.
A look of pure surprise instantly crossed Lauren’s face when she saw the pink color emerge from the dessert.
“I’m in shock,” Lauren said before leaning into her husband for a kiss.
Lane then shouted, “Let’s go. Thank you, Lord.”
The joyful moment continued as they FaceTimed loved ones to share the news. Dutton, already embracing his new role as big brother to a little sister, immediately asked, “What should we call her?” He even suggested the name “Maui.”
This baby girl will be the couple’s third child, and as the caption indicated, it seems that the boys are already more than excited to meet their new sibling.
Chris Lane recently admitted that while he and Lauren were happy with their two sons, she had hopes of eventually adding a little girl to their family.
“Ultimately Lauren, she didn’t feel incomplete with two but she really wanted a girl eventually, but we weren’t guaranteed that. I feel like all boys run in our family and I kept saying if we have a third I know it’s just going to be a boy, that’s just how it goes,” he recently shared on The Bobby Bones Show.
Before they were parents, Chris and Lauren began their love story in 2018 and then tied the knot on October 25, 2019. They welcomed their first son, Dutton Walker Lane, in June of 2021 and their second, Baker West, in October of 2022.
The news of their third pregnancy came at the end of May, when the “What Am I Supposed To Tell The Dog” singer made the announcement using a sweet beachside video. Throughout the footage, the couple is seen soaking up the sun with their sons while Lauren showed off her growing bump.
They also wrote “#3” in the sand, marking the sweet moment as a family of four prepares to become five.
Their caption read, “Party of 5 coming this November! 🤍”
Chris Lane is fresh off his time Rascal Flatts’ sold-out arena tour and also just dropped his brand-new album, Shade Tree on June 20. The personal collection of songs touches on Lane’s signature sound and powerful storytelling that give an authentic look into his real-life experiences.
