Carrie Underwood may light up the stage on American Idol, but when she’s not in glam mode, she’s all about the quiet life back on her Tennessee farm. And during the Idol Season 23 finale on Sunday, May 18, Carrie’s family grew by one — with the arrival of a baby lamb!
The new lamb was born the same day as the American Idol finale, and Carrie decided to honor the occasion by naming him after the newly crowned winner, Jamal Roberts.
“Surprise! We’ve got another new life around the farm!” Carrie shared on social media. “This little guy happened to be born on the day of the @americanidol finale, so we figured it would only be right if we named him Jamal!!!”
Carrie added that “Mama and Baby J are doing well,” and that she’s been stopping by the barn to sneak in snuggles whenever she can. The adorable lamb — now affectionately known as Jamal — joins a growing list of animals on Underwood’s family farm.
From center stage to barn life, Carrie Underwood continues to show she’s just as grounded as she is glam.
