Blake Shelton brought the house down on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon with a high-energy performance of his new song “Texas”, off his just-released album For Recreational Use Only. The performance marked one of Blake’s first major TV appearances in support of the new record, and it was pure country swagger from start to finish.
“Texas” leans into Blake’s signature sound with a fun, boot-stomping vibe, blending humor, grit, and a whole lot of state pride. Fans have already been buzzing about the track online, and the live performance proved the song hits just as hard on stage as it does in your truck speakers.
Before the performance, Shelton sat down with Jimmy Fallon for a hilarious interview — and true to form, he didn’t hold back. While discussing how his song with Post Malone (“Pour Me a Beer”) sparked the inspiration for this new album, Blake dropped a classic one-liner aimed right at the host.
“You’ve been around him,” Blake said, talking about Malone. “You can’t be around that guy without having a good time. And he’s so excited about everything.” Then, without missing a beat, he looked at Fallon and added, “You guys are a lot alike now that I think about it… except he’s genuine about his excitement.”
The roast was all in good fun, of course — Fallon laughed it off, shaking his fist at the camera while Blake grinned. The moment added to their long-running on-air friendship, which has included everything from farm lessons to musical pranks.
Shelton’s new album For Recreational Use Only is out now, featuring “Texas.”
