American Idol finalist John Foster will soon fulfill his “#1 dream” when he steps on to the Grand Ole Opry stage to make his Opry debut.
On June 7, the 18 year old will perform on the iconic Opry stage alongside Opry members Bill Anderson, Craig Morgan, Old Crow Medicine Show, and Mark Wills.
Foster announced the exciting news on social media after he performed alongside Morgan at the Cajun Country Jam Memorial Day Festival in Denham Springs in his home state of Louisiana.

“Tonight I had the pleasure of singing with Grand Ole Opry member Craig Morgan, and I’m incredibly honored to announce that I will make my Opry debut on Saturday, June 7th,” Foster excitedly shared.
He then took a moment to share how much this opportunity means to him, writing, “The first time I went to the Opry, I fought back tears because I was so overwhelmed with joy. As an amateur country music historian, there is no more significant place to my passion (country music) than the Grand Ole Opry. This has been my #1 dream ever since I started music, and now, because of your support, my dream will come true! I will NEVER be able to express my gratitude! Glory be to God! ❤️”
Congratulatory messages filled the comments section as his fellow Idol alumni and fans expressed their excitement for him.
“John you won the hearts of young and old. I am a 75 year old lady that thinks you hang the moon. You have such a humble spirit and so much love in your heart when you sing. So please never change that no matter how much fame you gain,” one fan wrote.
Another added, “So well deserved! You are well on your way to being a big name in country music. God has given you a wonderful singing voice and I’m always impressed that you give honor and praise to him. Again I have to say you are a class act. If possible please post a video of the Opry appearance.”
In addition to his Opry debut, John Foster is also scheduled to perform in Nashville on June 4 where he’s set to appear at the 19/BMG Takeover at 6th & Peabody alongside fellow American Idol alums Colin Stough, HunterGirl, Will Moseley, and this season’s champ, Jamal Roberts. This event will mark Foster’s “first official appearance in Music City.”
The all ages show is FREE to enter and begins at 4pm local time.

John Foster finished Season 23 of American Idol as the runner-up. His time of the show included standout performances of country hits like “I Told You So” by Randy Travis, “Neon Moon” by Brooks & Dunn, “I Cross My Heart” by George Strait, and more.
During the finale, he teamed up with American Idol judge Luke Bryan to deliver a memorable performance of Randy Travis’ 1988 hit, “Deeper Than The Holler.”
