Season 27 of The Voice is getting down to the wire and the remaining top five contestants are leaving it all on the stage in hopes of leaving victorious. Among the hopeful artists left is Adam David, who delivered a soaring, emotional performance of “Hard Fought Hallelujah” by Brandon Lake and Jelly Roll during part one of the live finale, which aired Monday, May 19 on NBC.
Originally released as a solo track by contemporary Christian artist Brandon Lake in November 2024, “Hard Fought Hallelujah” quickly struck a chord with listeners and ended up going viral for its raw vulnerability and faith-driven message. From there, Lake deepened the powerful delivery even further when he teamed up with Jelly Roll for a duet version.

That same spirit filled the stage as David poured every ounce of himself into the performance, capturing the deepest of emotions that make the song so moving.
With his soulful voice rising above the candle-lit stage, he channeled the duet partners in the faith-filled anthem. In the midst of the performance, he was joined by the fiery presence of a choir, adding a striking sense of grit and electricity to the tune.
When Adam David first stepped onto The Voice stage for the Blind Auditions, he turned just one chair with his heartfelt rendition of Peter Frampton’s “Baby I Love Your Way.” That single chair belonged to coach Michael Bublé, and it would mark the beginning of an unexpected yet unforgettable journey for David.
The Fort Lauderdale, Florida native quickly became a fan favorite and a standout member of Team Bublé. Despite being overlooked by the other coaches, including Adam Levine—who later admitted that passing on Adam was his “biggest regret”—David consistently delivered powerhouse performances that left audiences in awe. From Sam Cooke’s soulful “Bring It On Home to Me” to the emotional resonance of Bob Dylan’s “I Shall Be Released,” his voice and stage presence grew stronger and stronger with each round.

Throughout the competition, David continued to showcase his versatility and depth across multiple genres with songs like Allen Stone’s “Unaware,” Joe Cocker’s “You Are So Beautiful,” and Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control.” He even performed his coach’s own hit, “Home,” during a battle with fellow contestant Ricardo Moreno.
During the Semi-Finals, Adam faced one of his biggest hurdles. He didn’t secure enough of America’s votes to move on to the finale and found himself forced to sing for his life for the Instant Save. Luckily, he ended up winning America over once again and landed the final spot in the Top 5.
Adam David’s The Voice journey is a true testament to raw talent, resilience, and the power of hard work alongside the guidance of his coach.

With the season nearing the end, Adam David and his fellow top five contestants – Jadyn Cree, Lucia Flores-Wiseman, Jaelen Johnston, and Renzo are all battling it out for their collective dream of winning The Voice, thus scoring the record deal and cash prize.
Part two of the finale will air tonight, May 20, 2025, at 8/7c on NBC.
