Randall King and Braxton Keith Deliver Steel-Soaked Love Song, ‘Cheatin’ On My Honky Tonk’

Randall King has teamed up with fellow Texas native Braxton Keith to deliver a toe-tapping country love song, “Cheatin’ On My Honky Tonk.”

The just-released duet finds the pair telling the story of a man who used to spend his nights drinking with his buddies at the honky tonk. Now, he’s fallen head over heels for a woman and has completely changed his ways. Instead of partying and closing down the bars with his wild buddies, he’s now “cooped up” in her house, wrapped up in love, and skipping his usual nights on the town.

“I’ve been cheatin’ on my honky tonk/ Missin’ out on my drinkin’ songs/ Wrapped up, tied down, that girl unwound/ All of my tied one ons/ She got me cheatin’ on my honky tonk,” they sing.

King and Keith are known for their appreciation for traditional country music, so it should come as no surprise that this tune is a steel-soaked, ‘90s country throwback.

“Cheatin’ On My Honky Tonk” was written by Phil O’Donnell, Ira Dean and Ronnie Dunn and marks King’s first new release since his major label sophomore album, Into The Neon

The lyrics hit close to home for King, who got engaged to his longtime girlfriend and welcomed their first child, a daughter named Paisley Leanna, all within the past 18 months. Life looks a lot different for him these days, but he wouldn’t have it any other way.

“My fans all know how much I love a honky tonk, however life’s looking a little different these days,” King said. “I’m spending less time under that neon glow and more time at home with my girls, and this song felt like the perfect way to bridge Into The Neon and this next chapter. I couldn’t think of anyone better to join me on it than my good buddy Braxton Keith. Hope y’all enjoy!”

Keith said it was “an honor to be asked to sing on his song.”

“Randall’s been championing me in my career from the beginning. We had a lot of fun on this one,” he added.

As he continues working on his new album, King is staying busy on the road with a mix of headlining shows and support slots. He’ll also join Luke Bryan for select dates on the Country On Came On Tour.

Meanwhile, Braxton Keith is staying busy with a slew of tour dates on the books, including upcoming appearances at festivals such as Country Thunder Wisconsin, Headwaters Country Jam, and more. He’s also slated to open for Luke Bryan.
