The Story Behind ‘Comin’ In Cold’

While sitting down with Country Now and other outlets during an appearance at Raising Cane’s on Nashville’s Lower Broadway, the Ilinois native shared the story behind “Comin’ In Cold.”

He said, “There’s something about ‘Comin’ In Cold’ that I haven’t done before because it’s not about heartbreak – it’s about this girl that I shouldn’t be chasing. I’m chasing red flags and I’m addicted to it. She’s everything I want and nothing I can have, just like a beer on a Saturday night.”

Zimmerman went on to explain that while he’s actively trying to avoid heartbreak at all costs, it seems to keep finding him. This single gives a look at the kind of vulnerability and maturity that fans can expect to find across the entire album.

“‘Comin’ In Cold’ is about my life these last couple years. It’s more mature, but also not at the same time because I’m still chasing girls in bars,” he added.

Along with the album announcement, Bailey Zimmerman the official music video for his heartfelt and honest ballad. The Jerry Morka directed video opens with the country act involved in a bad bull riding accident, followed by a “boy’s night” in a local bar. Diplo makes a surprise cameo as the bartender who serves as a wingman when a woman who caught his attention walks in the door. He’s finally convinced to hit the stage and show off another set of skills while delivering “Comin’ In Cold.”
