Bailey Zimmerman just revealed a major relationship dealbreaker, and it involves his dogs.
In a recent Instagram post teasing his unreleased track “Comin In Cold,” the country star let fans in on a personal rule when it comes to dating: “If my dogs don’t like you… then it’s a no go for me,” he wrote, adding two red flag emojis for emphasis.
It appears that if anyone wants to win over Zimmerman’s heart, they’re going to have to earn the stamp of approval from his four-legged best friends, Marley May and Pie, first.
Luckily, he appears to have plenty of options as the comment section was filled with fans claiming that his dogs will love them if given the chance.
Zimmerman’s Dog Dad Era
The country star began his new role as a “dog dad” shortly after moving to Nashville in 2021. At the time, he shared his golden retriever Marley with a girlfriend and after they parted ways, he got to keep the pup. While he was happy as can be with his dog, the idea to add another four-legged member to his family came to him while on the road. Zimmerman realized that Marley needed a friend to keep her company on the bus.
“I had been thinking about getting a friend for her…I saw [Pie] and I was like, ‘Gosh… I just have to have her. She’s so pretty,’” he told Country Now during a Pupdate.
The “Religiously” singer knew Pie was special the moment they met. While outside a truck show in rural Tennessee, she gently laid her head on his shoulder and that was all it took. He instantly knew she was coming home with him.
But shortly after bringing her home, Pie got “really sick.” She was diagnosed with parvo, and Zimmerman did everything he could to keep her alive, including multiple emergency vet visits in those first few critical days.
“I didn’t know if she was going to live,” he told Country Now.
Thankfully, Pie pulled through and is now doing great. Even Marley has finally come around to his new furry sibling.

New Unreleased Song “Comin In Cold”
While his most recent post was mostly meant to build hype around the new song, fans couldn’t help but gush over the cameo from Pie. Zimmerman has been raising the anticipation surrounding this new track. He even went as far as to say it is one of his “favorite” songs off his forthcoming album.
The tune that’s “coming soon” appears to be a gritty heartbreak anthem about falling for the kind of girl who’s impossible to resist, even through you know she’s no good for you. He paints a rebellious yet addictive image while singing about an unpredictable woman who keeps showing up in his life and turning it upside down.
“She’s a little miss reckless/ Train wreck in a red dress/ She’s all up in my head/ And my guess/ She’ll show up here tonight/ Lookin’ for a tab to put some trouble on ice/ She’s everything I want/ And nothin’ that I need/ She always leaves a hurtin’ on me,” he sings in the teaser clips.
Forthcoming Album
This song will follow the release of his newest track, “Backup Plan” with Luke Combs. There has yet to be an official announcement confirming when his next album will drop, however he has confirmed that it’s going to be worth the wait.
“I feel like when I first got to town, I didn’t really know nothing. I just loved writing songs and I was just kind of putting my feelings out there. And now, I feel like I’m paying more attention to what I’m saying. I want the album to be an artistic project,” he says. “The title encompasses every single song. None of the songs feel the same….I want this album to be something that people go, ‘Dude, do you remember that freaking album you put out? That was crazy!’”
He added, “I just want people to really relate to and love it. And I know if I don’t put my 100 into it, I’ll always regret it.”

Bailey Zimmerman is keeping busy with rehearsals for his New To Country headline tour that kicks off June 6 in Indianapolis, IN. The trek will run through September with special guests Dylan Marlowe and Drew Baldridge.
