Kane Brown Gets Honest About His Physical And Mental Health: ‘Everything’s Really Switched For Me’

Kane Brown is entering a new chapter of growth, and it starts with taking better care of his mind and body.

The country star recently opened up about his health journey in a new Instagram post, sharing progress photos of his physique from April 1 to May 19.

“I’ve been super dedicated to fitness and health. I would love others to come on this journey with me” he wrote.

Strict 60-Hour Fast

In a follow-up post on his story, Brown gave a bit more insight into the first part of his journey and the routine he followed to help stay on track. He shared that he fasted for 60 hours, only drinking water and black coffee in that time with no cheating.

According to Brown, following this strict regimen should result in the loss of “at least…5-7lbs and kill some bad cells in your body which is the start to not wanting to put bad things back in.”

Overcoming His Depression

Along with the physical transformation, Brown said he’s felt a real shift mentally too. In a new interview with ABC News Live Prime’s Linsey Davis, correspondent Ashan Singh caught up with the country star to talk about his ongoing mental health journey, his recent lifestyle changes, and how it’s all reflected in his latest album The High Road.

“I know people feel like they have spiritual moments or whatever, but I would say in this last month or two months, everything’s really switched for me. Honestly, the working out and just really stopping the nicotine really focusing on me. I feel younger. I have so much more energy now. I’m just way happier. My depression is not there as much anymore,” he shared honestly.

Opening Up About His Real-Life On ‘The High Road’

However, he has continued to be honest about both the good and the bad times, especially on his latest record, The High road, which features raw tunes like “Haunted” featuring Jelly Roll.

When asked what it was like working alongside Jelly Roll for this track, Kane Brown admitted that he sees a lot of similarities between him and the “Liar” singer. They’re both had their fair share of “crazy struggles” and have made it a point to use their platforms to remind people that even those in the spotlight who might seem like they have it all together are fighting their own battles behind the scenes.

“I say this at my shows, I feel like a lot of people look at celebrities or look at stars, look at people that’re in the spotlight and they don’t look at us as we are also normal people. I’m still the most regular person you’ll ever meet and I just want everybody to know, just as Jelly does, that we all have struggles and that we all have people that will love us no matter what and we can reach out to and get help before we hurt ourselves. Especially guys. I feel like guys, they won’t talk about that.”

The Benefits Of Having Family On The Road

Brown goes on to say that the songs on his latest record were built during a time when he had just welcomed a new baby into the family, wasn’t leaving his house and was feeling very stuck in his own head.

“I had all these emotions and just trying to have to put an album together and think about stuff that I was going through…I just had a new kid, just looking left and seeing what I could pull together.”

Kane Brown is now back on the road, and his stress levels have eased up a bit especially now that he gets to have his wife, Katelyn and their three kids out on the tour with him. He says it’s “way easier” to be away from home knowing that his loved ones are right by his side.

“I’m not sitting there stressing about what’s going on at home and what I’m missing and all that stuff,” he said before noting how it’s especially important to have his other half around to talk to about just about anything. “When I talk about it with my wife, that’s the person that I can really tell her anything, so it helps me talking to her. She’s my therapist, basically. And then that makes me want to talk to it with other people.”

Sharing The Stage With Wife and Daughter

In fact, he recently shared an incredibly special moment on stage with both Katelyn and their 5 year old daughter, Kingsley Rose during his stop in Albany, New York. The Georgia native invited his little girl to join him and his wife in singing the chorus of their chart-topping megahit, “Thank God.”

Without missing a beat, Kingsley showed off her singing abilities and won over the entire crowd.

This unforgettable moment took place during his headlining The High Road Tour. The trek features a brand-new production designed specifically for the “Backseat Drive” singer and offers a set list of hits and fan-favorites.

The tour launched on March 13, 2025 in San Diego, CA and will come to a close in Gilford, NH on May 25.
