After An Unforgettable Year, Kelsea Ballerini Is Taking a Breather and Planning Her Next Move

After a whirlwind year filled with milestones, from a major headlining tour to stepping into her role as a first-time coach on The Voice and earning her first ACM Entertainer of the Year nomination, Kelsea Ballerini is finally taking a breath. She wrapped up her first-ever arena tour in April following a three-month run and now is ready to enjoy some down time while figuring out her next big venture.

While catching up with Extra TV during the semi-finals for The Voice, the hitmaker was asked how she is going to top everything she has accomplished in the past year. She honestly responded, “I don’t know” before sharing that she will likely enjoy some down time while figuring out what to do next.

“I’ve always been very goal oriented and I have this bucket list and I updated every year at the beginning of the year, and I send it to my team and we’ve crossed a lot off, and so I think this next chapter for me is going to, I’m going to be quiet for a little bit and figure out what’s next and actually take that time to be intentional with myself and my real life and make sure that whatever is next is thoughtful.”

In another interview with Country Now backstage at the ACM Awards, Ballerini claimed that she is “very ready” to slow things down for a bit. Her main priority at the moment is to be there for her boyfriend, Chase Stokes. Since he acted as such a huge support system for her throughout her massive tour, she plans to repay the favor once he heads back to filming his own projects.

“I’m going to shift into real life for a bit and hopefully within doing that for a while, start to very slowly write again and figure out what’s next. But catch me in Charleston with the dogs. That’s where ill be for most of the summer,” she shared.

Her latest trek dubbed Kelsea Ballerini LIVE On Tour earned an impressive $35.2 million grossed and 353,807 tickets sold, according to AEG Presents. Across the 25 sold-out dates, Ballerini performed early hits as well as a slew of tracks from her fifth studio album, Patterns, which was released in October via Black River Entertainment. The project reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Albums Chart and No. 4 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums. She followed this up with a deluxe edition featuring five new songs.

At the same time, fans have watched her guide the latest crop of contestants on the NBC singing competition show. It was recently announced that Ballerini will not be returning to her chair for Season 28, but before her time on the show officially closes out, there are a few more performances to be had.
